How to become an exchange student

THREE STEPS HOW TO GET YOUR EXCHANGE YEAR STARTED:


1. BE SURE. There is a lot of stuff you gotta think about before you decide to become an exchange student. If you only want to learn a foreign language you should take speech classes, not decide to study an entire year abroad. What tempts you to do an exchange year?

2. RESEARCH. Inform yourself about the options you have. What does it actually mean to be away from home for a certain amount of time? Get to know to the different organizations and their different programs. Once you picked an organization you can go ahead and call them. They will be more than welcoming to talk to you and answer all your questions.

3. APPLY. You can get started with your application! In the beginning it will be super easy, it won't tie you to anything nor be too personal. There will be questions like how old you are, what type of school you go to, where you live, what country you would like to go to, and why. Once your application was permitted you will get a response soon where further steps are explained.
